What better way to kickoff 2025 than with a return of marquee traveling event?!
Cellular Calgary marked an exciting milestone for NotJustYou as we hosted our very first event in Calgary. The evening was filled with energy, anticipation, and a strong sense of community as we brought our traveling advocacy series to the city for the first time. Designed to raise awareness about the urgent need for a diverse stem cell donor registry, the event brought together community members, professionals, creatives, and sickle cell warriors for meaningful conversation and tangible impact.
During the event, 28 individuals successfully joined the stem cell registry, taking a life-changing step toward saving lives. We are deeply grateful to the Canadian Blood Services Next Gen team for facilitating on-site swabbing and making registration accessible and seamless for attendees.
One of the most powerful moments of the night came when we shared the incredible news that the Cellular model works—an individual who joined the registry through one of our Cellular events was successfully matched to someone in need of a stem cell transplant.
The evening also featured a keynote conversation on building multiple streams of income, offering attendees practical insights into financial sustainability and long-term planning. To end the night on a sweet note, Village Ice Cream, one of our founder’s favorite local Calgary spots, generously sponsored the event with a sweet treat, helping create a warm, community-centered atmosphere that made the night truly memorable.
