NJY Donates: BC Children’s Hospital

NotJustYou takes beautiful British Columbia!

We are now officially achieving our mission on a NATIONAL scale! On the 28th of July, NotJustYou had the privilege of donating $500 to the BC Children's Hospital! Our mission is to shed celebratory light on one’s sickle cell journey and provide a sense of hope for these individuals, and similarly the BC Children's Hospital Foundation is devoted to making kids shine! The money that was donated will go towards purchasing various gift cards for patients with SCD undergoing BMT, and other patients/families with SCD in the hospital!

Additionally, we were also able to gift some Warrior Bags containing essential items for sickle cell patients, to the unit as well!

This was NJY’s first donation out of Alberta, and given that it required our team to travel to BC, it was one that held unique significance for our founder, Ufuoma. Prior to bone marrow transplant, any form of air travel could potentially result in the development of a sickle cell pain crisis, making every trip a looming risk. To now have the ability and opportunity to travel and positively impact lives, without fear of failing sick, is everything she could have dreamed of.
