Every September, The Kickback opens Sickle Cell Awareness Month with a celebration. On Labour Day 2024, the community gathered on an Edmonton rooftop for a sickle cell BBQ, with live music, good food and the kind of day that turns awareness into belonging.

The Kickback is part of how we practise our pillar of celebration: joyful spaces that honour lived experience change how the world sees sickle cell.
